Recently, Zurich Australia has released their statistics relating to the 'New Smoker' - FAT. We all know obesity levels have risen, and what that means for our health, but have you actually seen the statistics? This comes directly from a Life Insurance Company, which is one of the larger organisations in Australia, so it would be an idea to take note of these confirmed statistics:

Not many people know, but if a director has personal guarantees on a loan, the financiers have a clause in the majority of contracts that if that director dies, they will call on the full amount of that loan immediately!

Will my insurance company go broke? Not if the Australian governing bodies have anything to do with it. A quick explanation into why this is highly unlikely in Australia compared to the rest of the world.

Last week, there was, yet again, another rate cut for Australian mortgage holders, and once again we get the message that banks will not be passing on the full cut due to "increasing cost of obtaining capital". Verbal diarrhea I hear you say? I'm inclined to agree with you on that one.

The year of the handout. Some people could replace their salary with the amount of money being given by the government this year. Don't get me wrong, free cash is great if you can get it, but is this something that will actually help the economy?

Track what the internet is saying about you

Did you know you can track your name and brand throughout the entire internet? If anyone has commented on your brand, business, industry or your name, you can select to have an email sent to you outlining what they wrote, who wrote it and a link to reply to it! Every business needs to keep an eye on this.

Have the government pay your insurance for you!

If you have several old supers from previous jobs, they can all be rolled together and the life or Income insurance attached to the super. This way, what would normally be paid from your bank account, will now be paid from your superannuation account. I'll cover off a series of this subject in time, so this is a basic run down in the mean time.

Super funds may finally recoup some of the losses incurred over the past few months according to ratings house, Super ratings. The new data pointed to another negative month of returns in February (down 3.66 per cent) but suggested that some of this was likely to be recouped in March due to a sharp rally [...]
